Pastor Pete was born and raised on a ranch in Atascosa County. Pete's mom was the daughter of a Baptist preacher and has worked in public education for her entire career.
In 1998 he left for college at Texas State. While pursuing a degree in Ag Education, Pete was also working toward becoming a professional pilot. While in college, he received a confusing call from the Lord to devote his life to full time ministry. He changed his major to Speech Communication with a minor in Religion and graduated in December of 2001.
Shortly before leaving for seminary, Pete received an unexpected phone call from someone back in Atascosa County who asked him to consider helping start a Cowboy Church. Cowboy Fellowship of Atascosa County was launched in May of 2003. Pastor Pete continues to serve as the Senior Pastor of this thriving congregation which now exceeds 1,200 people on two campuses.
