About Troy Neeley

Troy grew up believing in God and even loved God. His family never attended church, so neither did he. His relationship with God was relegated to giving thanks when good things happened and crying out to Him in times of despair. Because he believed in God, he was a decent kid by the world’s standards. However, he never knew that a personal decision had to be made to follow Christ, so when he was faced with his first altar call, Troy was overwhelmed by the prospect of having his life change in a single moment.

In 1988 Troy entered the military and on the first day of basic training, he cried out to the Lord saying, ‘if you get me through this, I will start going to church.’ His first duty station was Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, NM. As he stayed the first night in Albuquerque, he decided to go for a walk where he passed by the base chapel. At that time God reminded him of his promise to go to church and how the Lord had been faithful to deliver him and console him so many times in his life. Troy heard the Lord speak to his heart, but still didn’t start going to church right away… God was patient.

It wasn’t until a few years later that Troy would walk into Calvary Chapel of Albuquerque where he would hear the Word of God taught, verse by verse, and where he finally understood what a relationship with God looked like and that God was calling him into a personal relationship of his own. Though overwhelmed by the thought of what a changed life might look like, Troy responded to the altar call on a Sunday Night in 1992 at Calvary of Albuquerque.

Eventually the military brought Troy to San Antonio, Texas where the Lord called him out of the military and into full-time ministry. Troy served as a worship leader and staff pastor at Calvary Chapel in Universal City, Texas before being called by God to start Calvary Chapel Solid Rock in San Antonio, Texas.

Troy’s desire is to help others learn that there’s more to being a Christian than just believing that God is ‘up there,’ but that there is a call upon our lives to follow Jesus who loves us and gave His life for us.

If the Lord should stir your heart to join us in this venture, feel free to join us at one of our Sunday or Wednesday services. May the Lord bless you and keep you as you seek to follow Him with all your heart!
