David L. Gillespie on Leadership, Service & Imagination

David L. Gillespie, Lt Col, USAF (Ret), has spent more than 35 years leading in military intelligence, public policy, executive program development, and national service. His career included deployments and service connected to six major operational conflicts and campaigns, including Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Afghanistan.

Now, David is channeling a very different kind of mission into storytelling. He is the award-winning author of Floo Flocky Doo to the Rescue, a rhyming children’s picture book inspired by the imagination of his youngest daughter and built around adventure, color, kindness, and unforgettable characters.

In this episode of I Am Refocused Radio, David shares lessons from decades of leadership and service, the experiences that shaped his perspective, and why imagination remains powerful at every stage of life.
