Marbach Christian Church

Sharing God's love for one another through words and actions. We break this down by doing the following: We share the hope for salvation, for ourselves and for the world, rests in our faith in God as revealed in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. Finding unity within our diversity, sharing in the faith and resources of the body of Christ and inspired by the Holy Spirit. We serve God, as a church and as individuals, through worshiping God in an atmosphere of joy and reverence; inviting others to a life of Christian discipleship by our proclamation of the Gospel through our words and actions; sharing responsibility for the nurturing of each other; ministering compassionately to people in need; providing opportunities for spiritual growth; practicing careful stewardship of God’s creation, our resources and our abilities; and enriching our community of faith through regular fellowship opportunities. The congregation known as Marbach Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) assembles at 8023 Marbach Road in San Antonio, Texas 78227. Worship service is every Sunday at 10:45 AM. A separate message is delivered in Spanish on the 1st and 3rd Sundays. Bible study is each Thursday at 7:00 PM. We have a nursery for the little ones and we have Children’s church for those age 5 through 12. We have a Youth Minster that is very active with the youth of the church and we are heavily involved with serving the community and providing help to the needy. We have a Children’s Day Care that is faith based and is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 am until 6:00 pm. We are located just one block inside Loop 410 SW across from Pep Boys and our telephone number is (210) 673-4537. Come as you are. All are welcome. The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) while founded on American soil in the early 1800s, is uniquely equipped to live up to its identity that it is a “movement for wholeness in a fragmented world.” The denomination was born in the 1800s, and continues to be influenced by its founding ideals of our unity in Christ with openness and diversity in practice and belief. The Vision of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) To be a faithful, growing church that demonstrates true community, deep Christian spirituality and a passion for justice. – Micah 6:8 The Mission of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) To be and to share the Good News of Jesus Christ, witnessing, loving and serving from our doorsteps “to the ends of the earth.” - Acts 1:8 The Confession of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) • As members of the Christian Church, • We confess that Jesus is the Christ, • the Son of the living God, • And proclaim him Lord and Savior of the world. The church is identified with the Protestant “mainstream” and is widely involved in social and other concerns. Disciples have supported vigorously world and national programs of education, agricultural assistance, racial reconciliation, care of the developmentally disabled and aid to victims of war and calamity. The denomination now counts about 700,000 members in the United States and Canada in about 3,700 congregations. Numerically, the strength of the Disciples of Christ runs in a broad arc that sweeps from Ohio and Kentucky through the Midwest and down into Oklahoma and Texas.
